Summary of Position:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for monthly general ledger close and various financial reporting to ensure they properly reflect the company's financial position in accordance with company policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Essential Job Function:
· Coordinate and review data for the General Ledger.
· Performs mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
· Post journal entries related to month end close.
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
· Assist with Balance Sheet & Income Statement review.
· Assist with preparation of audit schedules.
· Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
· Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
· Interact with all departments at the Support Center and Practice levels.
· Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task.
· General knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounts receivable principles, accounting standards and industry regulations.
· Experience in account reconciliation.
· Must have strong computer skills and high degree of efficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
· Strong analytical abilities required.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance required.
· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (preferred)
