Summary of Position:
The IT Data Analyst will assist the business in providing the organization with the data needed to operate the business and support our practices’ efforts to provide excellent patient care. This role will gather, organize, clean, transform, and validate data from various sources and provide analytical support to various departments to fill business needs. This role will interact with existing connections to key data sources, develop reports, and troubleshoot data issues. The ideal candidate will work to deliver data through manual or automated tools while looking to improve upon existing processes.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provide analytics support to internal stakeholders by fulfilling ad-hoc data requests and providing analysis.
· Gain knowledge in a variety of source systems for data retrieval and transactional review.
· Query and manipulate data to identify variance and root cause, analyze trend, summarize findings and develop recommendations for stakeholders.
· Review and evaluate performance measures, data sources, methods of calculation, and methods of collection and make recommendations for improvement to business practices.
· Extract, clean, transform, and reconcile large amounts of data using manual or automated processes.
· Develop custom reports to address business needs.
· Review data for accuracy and identify errors within data.
· Work with key personnel to retrieve and manage required data.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficient understanding of SQL for data retrieval including creating, editing, and running SQL queries.
· Demonstrated ability to ensure the right information is identified at the right time and at the appropriate level for reporting purposes.
· Be accountable for the accuracy of the data delivered to end users through the execution of validation processes and testing.
· Must be highly analytical and possess a strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
· 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
· Required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, software development, mathematics, engineering, business, liberal arts or other related field.
· Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with a data warehouse.
· Experience with database languages, preferably SQL.
· Functional knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau.
· Understanding of financial systems and financial reporting.
First 90 Days
· Understand key data measures for data analysis.
· Understand and learn to independently execute daily, weekly, and monthly data processes.
· Understand key data sources for reporting and data integration purposes.
